I have the upmost respect for the field of ABA and do not take my responsibility as a supervisor lightly. Therefore, I work diligently to ensure that I provide quality supervision and training that will aide my supervisees to become effective practitioners.

Expectations

Expectations for Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supervision can vary based on your role and the specific requirements of your supervisory relationship.
Expectations for BCBA supervision:
 
1. Compliance with BACB Standards: Both the supervisor and the supervisee should adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) standards and guidelines for supervision.
 
2. Regular Meetings: Supervision will involve regular meetings between the BCBA supervisor (myself) and the supervisee. These meetings may be in person or conducted via telehealth.
 
3. Individualized Supervision: Supervision will be tailored to the individual needs and goals of the supervisee. It will address the areas where the supervisee needs support and growth.
 
4. Ethical Conduct: As the supervisor, I will always emphasize and model ethical behavior and decision-making, and the supervisee is expected to follow ethical principles and guidelines.
 
5. Skill Development: I am responsible for helping the supervisee develop their skills in behavior analysis, including assessment, intervention, data analysis, and communication.
 
6. Case Consultation: Supervision may include discussing specific cases and providing guidance on assessment and treatment plans.
 
7. Feedback and Evaluation: I will provide constructive feedback to help the supervisee improve their skills. Regular evaluations may also be a part of the process.
 
8. Record Keeping: Proper documentation of supervision sessions, including notes and records, are required by the BACB.
 
9. Ongoing Learning: Myself and supervisee are expected to stay updated with the latest research and developments in the field of behavior analysis.
 
10. Supervision Hours: The BACB requires a specific number of supervised experience hours for those seeking BCBA certification. These hours should be accurately tracked and reported.
